watched Fugazi’s Instrument again after the longest time. the opening performance of Shut The Door is hypnotic.

at long, long last. new Yeah Yeah Yeahs video. and it’s pretty awesome.
one of my favorite things about live music is watching a band before they become massive— their tentativeness, their awkwardness when it comes to stage banter, the way they’re afraid to let loose. chvrches is going to be major, i can sense it; and i’m happy to have caught them at this period of their career.
watching The Joy Formidable live makes me want to perform again.
Cat Power - Cherokee. from the album Sun (2012)

been listening to two very beloved albums from the 00s on their tenth anniversary: Interpol’s Turn on The Bright Lights and Pretty Girls Make Graves’ Good Health. I’m surprised at how well they’ve held up; like you could say they were new releases and no one would question you. That wouldn’t have been the case if Ten had been released in 2002.
Also, I miss rock music. Like music that actually rocked.
evan: have you heard the new Twin Shadow?
me: not really. wasn’t a big fan of the first album.
evan: you should listen to the new one.
me: why?
evan: every song in that album feels like it belongs in a significant moment in a john hughes film.
me: how can i resist that now?
Grizzly Bear’s Shields is turning out to be my album of the year. Here’s a video, Yet Again.
